Congratulations to four of our Taste Leitrim producers for making the finals of this Blas na hÉireann – The Irish Food Awards. The winners will be announced on October the 4th in the Blas Village in Dingle, Co. Kerry.
Artessa Coffee, Blakes Always Organic, Dromod Boxty, and McNiffes Boxty will be representing Leitrim, and we wish them all the very best of luck, although they are already winners in our eyes.
Blas na hÉireann is now in its 17th year and is the biggest competition for quality Irish produce on the island of Ireland. This annual event is one of the biggest celebrations in Irish food and its producers.
“Making it as a finalist is a huge achievement and one to be very proud of,” says Artie Clifford, Chairperson and founder of Blas na hÉireann. “The competition ramps up year on year, meaning those producers who are short-listed as finalists really are the crème de la crème of Irish food and drink. In 2023 was not just the excellent food and drink that has been celebrated but the people themselves, our passionate and resilient producers. It has been quite a homecoming for our Blas family, and we are looking forward already to doing it all over again this year.”
