Glencar teaSHED

Glencar teaSHED is a 50 seater coffee shop just beside the famous Glencar Waterfall. Serving locally roasted coffee, home made products and crafts. Enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch in warm and welcoming surroundings.

Sustainability 

• The teaSHED itself is built with sustainability in mind it features Timber frame construction, larch cladding & locally sourced stone.
• Triple glazing, good insulation, heat recovery ventilation system with hot water from air source heat pump means that no additional heat is generally necessary in the winter.
• We have switched to compostable packing i.e. coffee cups & lids fully compostable, smoothie cups compostable, takeaway containers compostable, supplied from Co. Donegal.
• All our salad leaves are grown on site using ‘no-dig’ organic methods i.e. without use of use of chemical fertilisers or pesticides.
• Other produce is also grown on site depending on seasonality from our side garden i.e. rhubarb, strawberries, various berries, cabbage, potatoes, spring onion, along with small polytunnel crops.
• We compost all used coffee grinds, vegetable scraps etc on site to feed the side productive garden, which is still being developed using the ‘no-dig’ method.
• Cardboard is composted and utilised as a weed control method were possible.
