Ray D’Arcy took his RTE Radio 1 show to Acres Lake in Drumshanbo this afternoon. This was part of a week long series to explore Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands.
Ray stayed at The Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon where he heard all about the Carrick Water Music Festival which is on this week. He joined Electric Bike Trails for a leisurely cycle along the Blueway from Leitrim Village to Drumshanbo.
A number of guests joined Ray for the live broadcast including our friends from The Organic Centre and Leitrim Landscapes Guided Walks. Charlie McGettigan and his grandson Padraig entertained the crowds with a lovely rendition of Rock ‘n’ Roll Kids.
Writer Michael Harding and hurler Zak Moradi were also part of the very enjoyable show.
